About the Youth Section
Exeter Juniors formed in 1990 with just a few Under 9 and Under 10 players.
Up until then the junior section consisted of a single youth team.
Since then the section has developed and by the end of season 2004/5 boasts approximately 210 players. The section now runs teams from Under 8 to Under 16.
The section was renamed Exeter Youth Rugby in 2000.
The Colts (Under 19) are administered by the Senior Section of Exeter Rugby Club.
The youth committee, meets at least once a month and finances itself from membership fees, grants and sponsorship plus assistance from the Senior Club with use of the Club’s wonderful facilities and amenities.
All teams have a manager and at least one coach and are continually striving towards RFU qualifications for all it's coaches. All are offered regular first aid training. The youth section regularly invests in new equipment, which benefits all sections of Exeter Rugby Club.
Most teams play on Sunday mornings between 10.00 and 13.00 and all except the youngest also train on Wednesday evenings. Matches are played on both the all weather pitch and the mini and second team pitches at Sandy Park.
Players are provided with Chiefs shirts on match days and are given food after each fixture in the Clubhouse. The membership fee includes the purchase of club shorts and socks.
