A new signing ahead of the 2022/23 season, Aidon Davis – former South African Schools and Junior Springbok loose forward – joined Chiefs from the Toyota Cheetahs.

Davis represented South Africa at the World Rugby Junior Rugby World Championships in 2013 and 2014. He initially started played for the Eastern Province Kings and represented the Southern Kings in Super Rugby before heading to Europe.

Having enjoyed two years playing in France – firstly for Bayonne and then in 2017 for RC Toulon – the forward then returned home to South Africa with the Cheetahs.

Davis, for Cheetahs, played in the Currie Cup, Vodacom Cup, Super Rugby, Top 14 and in the United Rugby Championship before arriving at Sandy Park with plenty of big game experience under his belt.

A player with a phenomenal work-rate and hard to stop in defence, his versatility around the back five scrum made him a handy recruit to the Chiefs pack.
