Keen to get his career back on track after a disappointing spell at London Irish, the speedy winger enjoyed a stellar first few seasons in Devon.
His tally of 26 tries in just 49 appearances showcased how much he relished his new role for the Chiefs, but his finishing prowess also made him one of the most dangerous attackers in the Aviva Premiership.
He debuted for the Chiefs in an away clash at Bath in October 2015 and it took him less than a minute to make his mark for his new club, touching down with his opening try with just 40 seconds played on the clock.
Prior to joining Rob Baxter's Chiefs that summer, Short has started his senior career with Saracens in 2007 and was part of their Premiership winning side of 2011, scoring a try at Twickenham in their 22-18 win against Leicester Tigers.
He later enjoyed a brief loan spell with Wasps, before moving to London Irish in the 2014/15 season, where he featured 13 times in total for the Exiles.
In recent seasons, Short has found first team opportunities limited due to the form for Jack Nowell, Olly Woodburn, Tom O'Flaherty and Alex Cuthbert, but he remains a hard-working winger, who can step into the fold if called upon by Baxter.
