Jannes Kirsten

A relative unknown to Chiefs supporters ahead of his arrival at the start of the 2019/20 season, by the end of it he was the talk of the town given an outstanding debut season in Devon.
At home playing either in the second-row or back-row, Kirsten's wasted little time in making his mark for his new club, producing game-after-game of destructive, on-field performances.
His no-nonsense style saw him feature prominently for Rob Baxter's side as they secured a historic double, winning both the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup.
Before arriving at the Chiefs, the former South African Under-20s international made his mark playing for the Bulls, both in Super Rugby and the Currie Cup.
Kirsten is the younger brother of Frik Kirsten, a prop who made 81 appearances for the Bulls between 2008 and 2014
