Prop Matt Johnson was originally brought into the Exeter Chiefs squad during the 2019/20 season having impressed playing for the University of Exeter in the BUCS Championship.
A powerful tighthead, the disrupted end to his first season meant he was given his chance to shine, making his Gallagher Premiership debut in an away fixture against Saracens at Allianz Park.
He graduated from the University with an MSc in Financial Analysis and Fund Management with Distinction before spending the 2022/23 season on dual registration with RFU Championship side, Cornish Pirates, after a successful stint at Taunton Titans the previous season.
