A quality addition to the Exeter Chiefs backline ahead of the 2022/23 season, Rory O’Loughlin arrives in Devon from United Rugby Championship side, Leinster Rugby.
The gifted and talented back offers not only guile and class to his new club, but proven experience at the very highest level.
Like fellow newcomer Jack Dunne, he is a former student of St Michael’s College in Dublin and played his club rugby with UCD and Old Belvedere before making his way at the RDS.
Since making his senior debut in September 2016, the Irish international accrued 99 club appearances for Leinster and win a Champions Cup medal, as well as four Pro14 titles with the province.
He made his full Ireland debut in 2017 against Japan and was also a member of Ireland 7s squad.
Speaking of his move to the Chiefs, he said: “I’ve been very lucky to be at Leinster for the past eight years, but this is a new and exciting challenge for me.
“Having come up against Exeter in the past, plus watching from afar, I’ve seen the success they’ve had and the squad they have built.
“Heading over to Exeter, it’s a move that really excites me and one that comes at the right time in my career. Exeter play a great brand of rugby, one in which they like to get the ball into space, and they really look to go after and attack the opposition.”
