Springbok international Zintle Mphupa made history when she signed for the Chiefs, becoming the first South African to play in the Premier15s.

Having started playing the sport at 17, Mphupa was selected as part of the Springbok U20s side that toured the United Kingdom in 2013, before being called up to the Springbok 7s squad in 2017, earning a full-time contract. 

Mphupa has captained her country at both the Commonwealth Games and the 2018 7s World Cup. In the same year, she also made her 15s debut for her country.

Off the field, Mphupa has a degree in Human Movement Sciences.
