Exeter Chiefs will be hosting a number of Coach Education events during this season. These events are designed to educate, inspire and hopefully create talking points amongst coaches in the Devon and Cornwall area.

Core Skills with Ali Hepher
Date: Monday 2nd March 2026
Venue: Truro College Lecture Theatre – Fal Building
Timings: 17.45 meet for 18.00 start 19.45 finish
Topic: Core Skills
Covering the key technical points for the catch and pass, carry, clear out, tackle and counter ruck. Understanding space, pace and communication.
This Coach Development session is aimed at U12-U16 coaches.

Defensive Masterclass with Haydn Thomas
Date: Wednesday 8th April 2026
Venue: Sandy Park, Exeter

Topic: Defensive Masterclass
Core basics of tackle technique, counter ruck and defensive organisation.
This masterclass is aimed at coaches coaching the U12-U16s age grades.
A brilliant, thought-provoking evening which captured my imagination around creating an effective learning environment during coaching sessions. The ideas were simple to implement but could make a huge difference to the experience of the players. I'm already looking forward to the practical session in January!
