
Bachuki Tchumbadze is called up to play for Georgia

After a 54 - 3 win over Switzerland, the Georgia national rugby team have travelled to the Netherlands to prepare for their next match against the hosts in the 2026 Rugby Europe Championship.
Georgia will play its second tournament match in Amsterdam at the National Rugby Centre. Kick off is set for February 15th at 16:00 Georgia time.
Several adjustments have been made to the extended squad ahead of the match. Giorgi Akhaladze, Aleksandre Kuntelia, Nikoloz Sutidze, Giorgi Melikidze, and Giorgi Javakhia have returned to their clubs by mutual agreement. The union emphasized that these decisions are not related to player form, performance, or disciplinary matters, but are part of ongoing coordination with clubs.
The squad has been strengthened by two additions, including Exeter Chiefs prop Bachuki Tchumbadze. Lock Lado Chachanidze of Mont-de-Marsan has also linked up with the squad.
In the opening round of the championship, the Netherlands were defeated 51–33 by Spain. In the current world rankings, Georgia sit 13th, while the Netherlands are ranked 27th.
