Bailey to enjoy game-time for Plymouth

Lock Joe Bailey, having impressed in training and PREM Rugby Cup matches, will be available for game-time with National One side Plymouth Albion in the coming weeks.

Bailey, who is one of a large cohort of Chiefs youngsters who has developed through the player pathway at EURFC, will continue to train in Exeter while being available for selection in Plymouth.

The 21-year-old most recently played in Chiefs’ 22-17 domestic cup win over Bristol Bears at Sandy Park in November.

Chiefs’ director of rugby Rob Baxter said: “This is another example of one of our promising youngsters being given a great opportunity to continue playing regular, competitive rugby as Plymouth are enjoying a positive season.

“Our working relationship with them this year has been really strong, with a number of our young lads being involved in their matchday 23. Joe featured well for us in the cup block and we’d like to see more of him in the coming weeks while our first team enter into European competition.

“I know Joe will use this as an opportunity to put his best foot forward. With some strong performances for Plymouth, we could definitely see him back in and around our match side for Chiefs.”
