Chiefs duo named in Team of the Year

Two Exeter Chiefs Women's players have today been named in the Allianz Premier 15s team of the season for the 2021/2022 campaign.

Based on stats from the season, five players were selected from each position from a variety of clubs across the league and then a selection panel of five chose their top three in each position. Three points were awarded for a top pick, two points for second and one point for third.

The panel consisted of Jessica Hayden (The Times), Nick Heath (Broadcaster), Kat Merchant (Broadcaster), Sara Orchard (BBC Sport) and Fi Tomas (The Daily Telegraph).

Champions Saracens and play-off semi-finalists Bristol Bears both lead the selections with four players in the chosen XV. Exeter Chiefs and Loughborough Lightning both have two players, with Harlequins, Wasps and Gloucester-Hartpury a single selection.

The two Chiefs selected were co-captain Kate Zackary, along with USA Eagles team-mate Hope Rogers, who enjoyed a debut season to remember for the Devon club.

Each player will receive a personalised poster to mark being selected in the team.
