Chiefs named in Italy team to face reigning world champions
There will be three more Exeter Chiefs players in action at Allianz Stadium this Saturday as Italy take on South Africa.
One week on from an impressive 26-19 win over the Wallabies in Udine, the Azzurri take on the Springboks.
Italian head coach Gonzalo Quesada has selected lock Andrea Zambonin, back-row Ross Vintcent and scrum-half Stephen Varney, with Juan Ignacio Brex wearing the captain’s armband in the centre.
This is the Italians’ third meeting with the reigning world champions this year after the men in blue toured South Africa in the summer.
Two of the Italian 23 – Simone Ferrarri and Tommaso Allan – were a part of a momentous 20-18 victory over the Springboks in 2016.
The fixture kicks off at 12:40 on Saturday 15 November, broadcast live on TNT Sports.
