With the fireworks of New Year’s Day all done and dusted, the Exeter Chiefs Under-18s will be looking to start 2019 with a bang when they head up to face Bristol Under-18s in their latest Premiership Rugby Under-18s League match-up.

Have come home empty-handed from their opening fixture away to London Irish, coupled with a crushing 64-7 defeat to Bath at the Rec before Christmas, the young Chiefs will have their sights set on proving a point and turning the tables on their fortunes on the road.

“We were bitterly disappointed with our performance against a real quality Bath team the other week. They punished us for every mistake we made!” said Academy coach Marek Churcher.

“We as a group of coaches are hoping to see a real positive reaction heading up the M5 on Saturday to Bristol. The squad trained well on Thursday and looking forward to putting in a big team performance this week. Bristol will not be easy so it’s going to be another good challenge on the road”.

Nine changes from the starting line-up that faced Bath sees Troy Sixton and Charlie Cadogan being brought into the fray alongside Luke Bralsford and Archie Hill. A shuffled back line sees Frankie Dart re-assume the anchor slot, while Ali Stacey starts ahead of Tom Cairns on the bench.
