Chiefs youngsters involved in youth international training camps

Four Chiefs youngsters have been selected for training camps with Wales and England U20s.

Luke Evans and Isaac Godfrey have been in camp in Cardiff as part of Wales U20s head coach Richard Whiffin's 45-strong playing squad. Their preparations focus around a game against Cardiff RFC at the Cardiff Arms Park on Friday, 16 January.

On the larger squad selection, Whiffin said: "It's an opportunity for us to connect with the players and it's an opportunity for those guys to put their hands up before we whittle the squad down to 36 or 37."

Meanwhile Ollie Batson and George Newman were this afternoon named in a 32-player group by England U20s head coach Andy Titterrell for a four-day training camp in Vilamoura, Portugal. This camp is ahead of a friendly against Bath United at the Recreation Ground on Saturday, 24 January in advance of the U20 Men's Six Nations competition.

On the purpose of the camp, Titterrell said: "As a squad, we're looking forward to setting the tone for the campaign and starting our journey together in Portugal this week. Our objectives this season are to embrace the mindset of getting better, supporting each other in a high-performance environment and earning the right to achieve top honours."

The U20 Six Nations competition will kick-off on Friday, 6 February as England and Wales go to battle against one another at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.
