Exeter Chiefs have confirmed four pre-season friendlies for the 2024/25 season, all of which will be played at Sandy Park.

The season will kick-off with a doubleheader of games against Championship opposition on August 24th as London Scottish and Cornish Pirates will take on Chiefs.

Two weeks later, on September 7th, Welsh URC side Ospreys will arrive in Devon before their Irish league rivals Ulster Rugby arrive a week later, on September 14th.

Fixtures:

  • London Scottish – Saturday, August 24th – KO 14:00
  • Cornish Pirates – Saturday, August 24th – KO 16:00
  • Ospreys – Saturday, September 7th – KO 15:00
  • Ulster – Saturday, September 14th – KO 17:00

Scottish and Pirates have faced playing in the fortress of Sandy Park in recent times as both teams came up against Rob Baxter’s men in the opening rounds of the 2023/24 Premiership Rugby Cup competition.

Ospreys were in Devon for a highly competitive Champions Cup fixture in 2016 which saw the Welshmen fighting for points until the death but ultimately it was Chiefs who came out on top in a bonus point 33-17 win. Additionally, current first-team regular Ethan Roots was a talent expertly plucked by Baxter from amongst Ospreys’ ranks.

Meanwhile, Chiefs and Ulster have faced off in Champions Cup clashes and friendlies before. Most recently, it was the Exeter men who made the journey for the fixture – travelling to Kingspan Stadium in September 2022.
