Exeter Rugby Club and Sandy Park Stadium will continue to monitor closely Government advice on the prevention and spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Senior management of the Rugby Club and Sandy Park continue to be in regular dialogue with Premiership Rugby and all the relevant authorities, ensuring they are fully briefed on the very latest and essential information and guidance procedures.

In the current medical climate, the Club and Sandy Park are acutely aware of its responsibilities to all of its employees, as well as visitors to the stadium itself, and they have issued extensive internal advice consistent with current recommendations from the government and medical professionals on COVID-19.

It has now been confirmed by Premiership Rugby, European Professional Club Rugby and the Rugby Football Union that all fixtures have been POSTPONED until the week commencing April 20.

At this stage, neither Premiership Rugby or European Professional Club Rugby have given us fixed dates on when the affected matches can be rearranged.

The club would like to remind all season ticket holders, those who have purchased seasonal hospitality packages, and those who have bought match tickets that they remain valid for rescheduled fixtures.

Further clarity on the situation will come as soon as we are in a position to do so. We therefore ask all supporters to not contact the club’s ticket office as our small team are working hard to ensure that all the necessary processes are in place once future decision on rescheduling of games have been made by the relevant authorities.

In light of current developments, the club have taken the decision to remove all Exeter Rugby Club fixtures from sale until the end of April.

Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, tonight said: “Everyone associated with the Rugby Club and Sandy Park are committed to the utmost safety of all of our supporters, customers, players and our staff. As announced earlier, all of our fixtures have now been postponed for the next five weeks in accordance with the relevant information given out by the Government and Premiership Rugby.

“These are unprecedented times for everyone and our priority has to be to not only protect public health, but do our utmost to prevent the spread of the virus. As has been our stance throughout, we will continue to monitor closely the ever-changing situation with the Government, Public Health England and all of the other relevant authorities on this matter.

“On behalf of everyone associated with the Chiefs and Sandy Park, I say ‘take care’ and please do everything you can to look after yourselves, family, friends and neighbours.”
