Guyver and Westlake to start for England U18s to face Georgia

Exeter Chiefs Academy and Exeter College’s winger Archie Guyver and flanker Harry Westlake have bene selected to start for England U18s as they take on Georgia at Stade Louis Darragon in Vichy.

Fellow Academy players and College students Charlie Bosanko and Jeremy Keys will be hoping to make an impact from the bench.

Following a first Six Nations Festival 31-36 loss since 2023 against Ireland last Thursday, the U18s return to action against Georgia tomorrow (KO 12:15).

Head coach Jonathan Pendlebury said: “While the result against Ireland wasn’t what we wanted, there were clear learnings in how the group showed cohesion, real attacking intent and a willingness to explore opportunities with the ball.

“From our warm-up against France, there were levels up from us on both sides of the ball as we continue to build on core fundamental skills and tactical awareness of the game at the next level.

“We’re seeing this young side mature, take greater ownership and continue adapting to the demands of international rugby, which is exactly what this pathway is about.

“Now the focus turns to Georgia, and we’re excited by the opportunity to build on those positives and show our growth as a group.”

England U18s conclude their Six Nations campaign against Italy on Saturday 11 April (KO 15:15).
