Exeter Chiefs can confirm hooker Iestyn Harris has joined Cornish Pirates on loan effective immediately.

The forward joins the RFU Championship side to gain valuable game-time having returned from injury in recent weeks - featuring for Chiefs in friendlies during the Guinness Six Nations international break.

The young front row prospect joined Chiefs from Welsh URC side, Cardiff Rugby, in April 2022.

Introduced to rugby by his father, who was the coach of his local club Wattstown RFC minis team, Harris was brought into the Cardiff fold at age 16 to further develop his burgeoning talent.

After making 14 appearances for Cardiff's Welsh Premiership affiliated club, Harris made the move to Devon to learn from the expertise of forwards coach Rob Hunter and Director of Rugby Rob Baxter. Side lined by injury for a lengthy spell, the young front rower is now fit and looking for game time to begin to muscle his way back into the selection conversation at Chiefs.

The 25 year old also has representative honours for Wales U20s.
