Exeter Chiefs wing/full-back Dan John has signed a contract with Ospreys for the 2026/27 season.
John makes the move home to his native Wales to join the BKT United Rugby Championship after six seasons in Devon.
John said: “I’d like to thank the supporters, my teammates and coaches, and my player sponsors who have supported me over the last few seasons, showing me such great support both on and off the field.
“I’ve made some great memories as a Chief and apart from my debut, I think my most lasting memory in an Exeter shirt will be winning the Prem Cup in 2023 against a strong London Irish side.”
Born in Cardiff, John joined the Chiefs Academy ahead of the 2020/21 season after an impressive year with Millfield School. Originally picking up a rugby ball as a seven-year-old with Llantwit Faerdref, it wasn’t until John moved with his family to Hong Kong that he rediscovered his love for the game.
His talents with the oval ball in hand were immediately evident and John was granted international caps for Wales at U18s, U19s and U20s level.
Upon joining Chiefs, John was accelerated through the player pathway and made his debut as a 20-year-old in March 2021, coming off the bench in a victory over Leicester Tigers at Sandy Park.
Since then, John has made more than 30 appearances for Chiefs and scored six tries as his ability to play across the back-line made him an integral part of the Exeter squad depth.
John will complete the Run-In with Chiefs before moving home in the summer.
