Exeter Chiefs name an exciting lineup for their Monday Night friendly fixture against the Bristol Bears, with a number of players returning to the pitch for the first time this season.

The match-day squad sees a welcome return to action for Olly Woodburn on the wing, the Chiefs flyer was one of the stars at Sandy Park last season and following surgery in the summer to deal with a neck issue, Exeter fans will be delighted to see him back on the turf.

Woodburn is joined in the backline by Rory O’Loughlin, the Irish centre making his first appearance of this campaign, alongside fan favourite Ollie Devoto in the midfield. In the backfield, Dan John takes the 15 shirt after performing impressively for the Cornish Pirates in the opening rounds of the Championship.

Up front, Max Norey leads the team from the hooker position, whilst Eoin O’Connor will run out at Sandy Park for the very first time after joining the Chiefs from Munster in the summer, there will be plenty of interested eyes on the big second-row from fans and coaches alike.

Ross Vintcent starts at number eight after showing some impressive form in the early rounds of the Premiership Cup, whilst on the bench, there is a return for Alec Hepburn. The prop has had a tough 12 months with injuries and illness and it is wonderful to see him back on a team sheet again.

Whilst this fixture does not signify the return of the A-League fixtures as they may once have been, there will be no doubt that these friendlies give coaches the opportunity to take a look at some of the younger players in a competitive environment, and with a number of young guns set to run out for the first time in a Chiefs shirt, it is an exciting opportunity for them to stake a claim for greater representation in the first team.

Tickets for this match are just £10 for adults and only £5 for U16s, so why not come along and see the next generation of Exeter talent, as well as a few familiar faces returning to fitness.

The match is free for all Season Ticket Holders.
