Lilly Plowman of Exeter Chiefs Women has been named on the bench for England Women U20's match against Scotland.

Head coach LJ Lewis has confirmed her England U20 Women’s squad to take on Scotland on Matchday 1 of the Six Nations Women’s Summer Series.

The pathway sides meet this Saturday at the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly, Wales (18:00 BST).

Gloucester-Hartpury centre Millie Hyett will captain the squad the opening matchday of the series. Hyett, 20, was involved in 13 of her club’s 16 Premiership Women’s Rugby fixtures as the Cherry and Whites lifted their third consecutive league title this season.

First caps are awarded to Ashton Adcock (Loughborough College), Molly Bunker (Gloucester-Hartpury), Lucy Finch (Loughborough Lightning), Molly Luthayi (Loughborough Lightning), Maddy Page (Harlequins) and Lucy Simpson (Gloucester-Hartpury).

Jasmine Adonri (Trailfinders Women), Poppy Love (Trailfinders Women), Lilly Plowman (Exeter Chiefs), and Sophie McQueen (Gloucester-Hartpury) could also make their U20 bows from the replacements bench this Saturday.

In line with Six Nations regulations, management have also included U23 players Grace Clifford (Loughborough Lightning), Chloe Flanagan (Saracens), Lia Green (Loughborough Lightning), Molly Luthayi and Eva Wood (Sale Sharks) to maximise playing opportunities for a wider player pool within the pathway.

England’s Summer Series fixtures continue against Italy next Friday (11th) before concluding their campaign against France at CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence at Ystrad Mynach.

LJ Lewis said: “Our players want to prove themselves in this exciting competition this year. With many new faces mixed with our capped players, we have a fantastic blend in our squad that is eager to impress.

“In the coming weeks, we want to evolve as a squad with improvement every matchday. It’s testament to that determination within our player pool that we have the number of uncapped players wanting to succeed and wear the Rose with pride.

“Scotland will be a challenging opening fixture for us, but we want to embrace that challenge with a courageous approach from the outset.”
