Jordon Poole marked his debut for Coventry by scoring two tries in their 36-24 victory over Nottingham in the Greene King Championship.

The 23-year-old hooker has signed on dual-registered terms with the Midlands club until the end of the season in a bid to get some regular game time under his belt.

Joining club-mate Joe Snow – who is on a similar deal at the Butts Park Arena – Poole didn’t waste any time in making his mark at his new club.

Coventry Director of Rugby, Rowland Winter, said: “For a young player who drove up to Coventry in the week and thought he’d have a week bedding himself in - to be chucked into that shows the measure of the bloke really. I’m sure there’s lots more to come from him the more he settles.”

Elsewhere, Chiefs academy youngster Tom Wyatt started for the Cornish Pirates in their narrow 17-15 loss away to Doncaster Knights.
