The Gallagher PREM’s record-breaking season gathered even more momentum in Round 9, as more than 1.2 million viewers tuned in across TNT Sports and discovery+, delivering the second-highest cumulative audience ever recorded for a single round.

Round 9 proved to be the most-watched weekend of the current campaign so far, producing the highest cumulative TNT Sports audience of the season. Exeter Chiefs very own clash away at Bath Rugby attracted the strongest average audience of any match this season, while Sunday’s encounter between Leicester Tigers and Saracens drew a peak audience of almost 400,000 viewers.

Attendances inside stadiums have mirrored that broadcast success. Round 8 recorded a joint-record average stadium occupancy of 93%, helped by a sell out for Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park. Across Rounds 7 to 9, seven fixtures sold out in total, highlighting strong growth for world-class live rugby.

This momentum is also carrying through to the Gallagher PREM final. Following two consecutive record-breaking sell outs, demand for the Gallagher PREM Final continues to accelerate. Fewer than 30% of general admission tickets now remain for the 2026 final, which is set to return to Allianz Stadium, Twickenham on June 20, with another capacity crowd of 82,000 expected.

Simon Massie-Taylor, CEO of PREM Rugby, said the figures demonstrate the competition’s upward trajectory: “The success over the Festive Fixtures and new year underlines the growing strength of the Gallagher PREM and continually rising fan interest.

“Sustained increases in attendances, record stadium occupancy and rising broadcast audiences reflect the quality of the on-field product and the effectiveness of our strategy to position the Gallagher PREM as the most competitive and compelling club rugby competition in the world."
