Robinson poised to claim second Red Roses cap

Published on: 16/04/2026

Exeter Chiefs Women’s scrum-half Flo Robinson is hoping to double her cap count with a run-out at Murrayfield on Saturday.

With Natash Hunt out of the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations with injury, Robinson has been given an opportunity to earn her second cap off the bench against Scotland.

Robinson said: “I’m very excited to pull on the England shirt against Scotland this weekend. I've always loved the Six Nations since I was a kid, so it means a lot to me to play in the competition. I am learning a lot, and this group are great to play with, so I'm very excited.”

Maddie Feaunati will switch from blindside flanker to No 8 as she makes her second start of the competition having been shortlisted for Player of the Match against Ireland last weekend. Claudia Moloney-Macdonald has been rested for this game.

Both will come against club teammate Demi Swann who will also be hoping to get her second cap after making her international debut last weekend against Wales.

Elsewhere in the England matchday 23, Maud Muir will earn her 50th international cap and former Exeter College player Demelza Short will become Red Rose #269.

Aside from Muir and Short, there are three further changes to the starting XV that defeated Ireland in front of a record crowd at Allianz Stadium in the 2026 Six Nations opener. Full-back Emma Sing is promoted from the replacements, meaning a switch to the wing for Ellie Kildunne, and Zoe Harrison takes the 10 shirt. Abi Burton will line-up in the second row alongside Lilli Ives Campion in the forwards. Mia Venner of Gloucester Hartpury has also been named on the bench

This will be the third game to be played at national stadium for this tournament. Ireland will host Scotland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on the last weekend of the Six Nations.

Head coach John Mitchell said: “Mitchell said: “Last week was a positive start for us at home against Ireland. It was a special occasion to open the tournament at Allianz and a great opportunity for this group to come together, but we know there’s plenty we can improve. Our focus this week has been on being honest about those learnings and turning them into actions as we prepare for Scotland.

“We’ve had to adapt to a number of changes with injuries to teammates who are hugely valued within the group, but that’s part of the culture we’re building. It creates opportunities for others to step up and highlights the depth we’re continuing to grow, both for now and the future. There’s a real hunger in this group to keep pushing forward, regardless of the challenges we face.”

He added: “We’re expecting a brilliant atmosphere in Scotland, and it’s fantastic to see the game continuing to grow, with what will be a record crowd for a standalone women’s sporting event there. That’s something everyone involved should be proud of, and it sets the stage for a great contest on Saturday.”
