Sio to debut for Samoa in World Cup qualifier
Exeter Chiefs prop Scott Sio follows in his family’s footsteps this week as he is set to make his Manu Samoa debut in their World Cup qualifier match against Namibia.
The former Wallabies international, who made 74 appearances in the Australian shirt, has just recently become available to change allegiance to the pacific islands nation.
Samoa are in the midst of the final qualification tournament for the 2027 Rugby World Cup which is taking place at Dubai’s Sevens Stadium this week. Sio joins fellow PREM Rugby star Theo McFarland in the starting line-up as the Saracens man captains the side.
The Samoans come into the match having recorded a 48-10 win over Brazil in their first clash whilst Namibia fell just short of Belgium.
The fixture, which kicks off at 15:30 on Thursday 13 November, will be broadcast on RugbyPass TV.
