Team announced for Women’s Barbarians team to play Wales
Published on: 26/06/2026
Three Exeter Chiefs Women will start tomorrow’s Barbarians FC game as they take on Wales Women at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.
Chiefs fly-half Liv McGoverne and centre Alex Tessier will start in their usual positions while prop Amy Rule will switch to blindside flanker.
Emily Tuttosi has been selected on the bench while Wales international Carys Phillips will make Baa-Baas history from hooker, following in her father Rowland’s footsteps by playing for the club – the first father-daughter duo to do so.
Also in action will be former Chiefs Women Lori Cramer, Laura Delgado Dueñas and Charli Jacoby. Chiefs Women’s U23s lead Poppy Leitch will also swap the whistle for the gumshield tomorrow.
They have been put through their paces this week by former Chiefs Women’s head coach Susie Appleby.
McGoverne said: “It has been such a good week hanging out with team-mates and ex-team-mates but also making new friends. It has been hot at training, but we are ready for game tomorrow and I cannot wait to play at Twickenham for the first time. The Baa-baas jersey is really special. It will be honour to run out in it tomorrow.”
Appleby said: “Representing the Barbarians is a huge honour and one all of the girls are extremely deserving of.
“It’s been a brilliant week in the heat, and we have been blessed with a wonderful group of people who have bonded amazingly in a short amount of time.”
This game kicks off at 14:00 tomorrow and is being shown live on BBC iPlayer.
