Team news: Exeter name Chiefs XV side to face Pirates in friendly

An Exeter Chiefs XV side will travel to the Mennaye Field on Friday even for a friendly against RFU Championship side, Cornish Pirates.
“We’re excited to write another chapter in our rivalry with Pirates,” Chiefs’ skills coach Ricky Pellow said.
“We know it’ll be a battle as Pirates are a good side looking to have another strong season in an extremely competitive Championship league.
“It’s another valuable opportunity for our younger players to get first-hand experience of men’s rugby and put into action all the new elements we’ve brought into our attack and defence this pre-season.”
The game will be livestreamed by Pirates, which supporters can watch here. Or tickets are still available on the Pirates website here.
The Devon v Cornwall clash is a prime opportunity for the younger ranks of the Chiefs squad to gain valuable game-time while the first team contend in a PREM Cup fixture in Gloucester.
After an impressive showing against Ospreys last weekend, there is space in the starting line-up for Jed Findlay, Nic Allison, Oscar Beckerleg and Jack Forsythe.
Experience is lent to the side with the inclusion of Will Becconsall, Martin Moloney and Iwan Jenkins while Louie Sinclair and Sol Moody prepare to play against their loan club.
There is representation for the Chiefs player development pathway as EURFC’s Josh Mann and Ollie Miall are named on the bench.
The game kicks off at 19:30 in Penzance.
