Three Chiefs Academy players in England U17s squad
Published on: 07/05/2026
Alex Evans, Jack McIntosh and Brandon Mua have been selected for the England U17s squad for this week’s development camp hosted at Hartpury College.
Evans and McIntosh will join Truro College’s Mua off the back of Exeter College’s tour to Japan.
The four-day-meeting in Gloucestershire concludes the U17s and U18s programme for the 2025/26 season following on from one-day camps in Nottingham last month.
This will be centre Jack McIntosh’s first involvement in an England Men’s Pathway camp.
Exeter Chiefs Academy manager Rob Gibson said: “It is always a matter of great pride when our players are given the chance to further their careers and, importantly, continue their development.
“These opportunities allow them to experience new coaching environments, build new friendships, and demonstrate to national coaching staff the qualities we see every day; that they are fine young men with strong character and great ambition.
“On a personal note, I’d like to extend special thanks to the colleges and parents whose support makes these wonderful opportunities possible.”
Head coach Jonathan Pendlebury said: “This camp represents a crucial step in the players’ development, bringing together a group who have shown real growth and potential throughout the season for academies, schools, and some for England too.
“We want to continue to create an environment centred on support, enjoyment and ownership, where individuals take responsibility for their progress while contributing to the collective.
“This camp is an important opportunity to align our standards and continue developing the England rugby identity with these young rugby players, building towards the start of their U18 programme in the 2026/27 season.”
The U18s side return for a two-day training camp on Monday, 20 July in preparation for the 2026 U18 International Series in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
