Canada women line up against the Black Ferns

Three Exeter Chiefs named in Canada’s PAC4 squad

Published on: 27/03/2026

Three Exeter Chiefs Women have been named in Canada’s 30-player Pacific Four Series squad as they head into training for 2026’s tournament.

DaLeaka Menin, Alex Tessier and Emily Tuttosi will wear the red jersey for the first time since the Rugby World Cup final in September 2025. They are among 18 players selected from last year’s World Cup squad.

And although currently recovering from a hand fracture sustained against Trailfinders, Tessier has been named as captain.

Canada’s head coach Kevin Rouet said: “Players, coaches, staff and myself are all very excited to get back together again and begin a new four-year cycle together.

“It’s a new chapter for the team. We want to enjoy the special moments and success we had last year but also understand we must start building towards the next Olympics games and the 2029 Rugby World Cup.

“These next two years will be focused on giving young players the opportunity to showcase themselves and continue to develop the players with international experience.”

While the home nations compete in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations in April and May, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and USA face off against each other in the PAC4.

This year, five of the games are being played on America soil starting in California on 12 April before moving to Kansas City for two matches on 17 and 18 April.

The USA and Canada will then face each other in their final game in Chicago while Australia and New Zealand will play at the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Queensland on 25 April.

Tuttosi explains what PAC4 is all about: “It's huge! I think athletes from all four nations were struggling for test matches and that's what this tournament is meant to be…three more competitive matches.

“It's been record-breaking crowds in certain places, record-breaking wins in certain places. So, it's exciting, especially right after a World Cup. Hopefully we'll see some new athletes getting capped and making memories of their own.

“I think it'll also be cool to see, from a spectator point of view, the momentum of the World Cup. It's everyone's first test matches since then, so it'll be good to see the girls.”

As well as her club team-mates, Tuttosi will play alongside with the multitude of Canadians who also play for clubs in the PWR.

She said: “We are very lucky to be playing in the PWR. In terms of a domestic league, you can't ask for much more than this. It's fun to see each other week in, week out here, but it'll be fun to be together playing in red again.”

Canada has also selected their seven squad for the Hong Kong Sevens with Chiefs’ Sabrina Poulin re-called for duty for the weekend of 17-19 April.
