Welsh teams await Chiefs in pre-season

Exeter Chiefs will play both Scarlets Rugby and Cardiff Rugby in the run-up to the 2026/27 season.

First up, will be the Sandy Park season curtain-raiser with Scarlets travelling to Devon on Saturday, 5 September for a 15:00 kick-off. It will also be the first time fans will be able to see the players wearing the new season’s cup kit.

Chiefs will then make the journey up to the Welsh capital to play Cardiff at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday, 19 September.

Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter said: “These two games will complete our preparation for next season. Both teams are full of talent, and we will look forward to taking them on in September to test ourselves in competitive conditions to complement the fitness and skills training the squad will have already been through.”

Both games will also give Chiefs players the opportunity to rub shoulders with some former team-mates and Joe Hawkins already at Scarlets, and Scott Sio heading to Cardiff this summer.

The Scarlets game will be included in all seasonal memberships, but these supporters must download a ticket from their account before the day of the game.
