Buchanan called up to Scotland Women's squad

Exeter Chiefs Women's winger Katie Buchanan has been named in her debut Scotland Women's squad alongside teammate Demi Swann ahead of the WXV Series.
Buchanan, who qualifies for Scotland through her grandmother, is one of four uncapped players in the 32-player squad which splits into 18 forwards and 14 backs.
Having missed out on matches throughout the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations due to injury, captain Rachel Malcolm returns alongside Anne Young, Evie Gallagher and Sarah Bonar.
The selection comes in the aftermath of the coaching set-up change following the departure of head coach Sione Fukofuka for personal reasons. Dave Butcher will lead the national team on an interim basis during the competition.

The squad will come together at Oriam in Edinburgh on Monday, 10 August ahead of hosting Canada, New Zealand and Australia at Hive Stadium.
