Chiefs celebrate 20 years of Sandy Park with retro style shirt
Published on: 02/09/2026
Exeter Chiefs have turned back the clock with their new home and away kit to celebrate the first game played at Sandy Park 20 years ago.
The long-awaited kit for the 2026/27 season has been revealed today. Its retro design was inspired by the shirt worn by the players who ran out for Chiefs against Coventry in September 2006.
Designed and manufactured by VX3, the kit has been given a modern uplift, but its origins are clearly recognisable from the first jersey worn at Sandy Park, which features the light blue paneling of the 2006 shirt.
Exeter Chiefs CEO Tony Rowe CBE said: “The 20th anniversary of Sandy Park means a lot to this club. It was a bold decision to leave our city centre ground and build a brand-new stadium. We did not know if people would turn up but we actually had to delay kick-off to get everyone through the gates!
“Twenty years on and we have been promoted to the Premiership, won two league titles and a European trophy, and Sandy Park has witnessed it all. This season’s kit remembers that first run-out 20 years ago, it celebrates all those years, and the club we are today.”
The replica men’s kit will bear the Sandy Park and Sandy Park 20th logos to celebrate the anniversary, while the players will run out in jerseys bearing the logo of Chiefs new front of shirt partner Outfox Energy. The women’s front of shirt sponsor is Focus Group.
Rowe added: “Finding a front of shirt partner can be challenging as seen by other clubs in the league this summer. Outfox Energy were secured after the replica shirts were manufactured but we were more than delighted to have them join the Chiefs family.”
The home kit bearing the Sandy Park logo will be worn by the players at Chiefs’ Prem Cup game against Bristol Bears on Saturday, 12 September, to mark the 20th anniversary celebrations. Only worn the once, these shirts will be signed by the players who wear them and these be auctioned at the Sandy Park 20th Anniversary Dinner on Friday, 25 September.
