Chiefs Community team welcome 500 kids to Easter camps

Published on: 20/04/2026

Our Exeter Chiefs Community team have enjoyed an exciting and engaging fortnight with hundreds of kids attending our Easter holiday Train Like a Chief camps.

Visiting eight different rugby clubs across Devon and Cornwall, our team were able to provide high quality, fun and worthwhile coaching to 500 kids.

A truly special moment during the week saw Exeter Chiefs Women’s back-rower Maisy Allen return to her roots as she helped out coaching the camp at her hometown club, Oakmeadians RFC in Bournemouth.

Tom Steer, head of community, was delighted to see so many kids enjoying having a rugby ball in hand. He said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the success of our camps over the last couple of weeks.

“A lot of work goes into planning camps like this, and we’re so appreciative of the support we receive from the local rugby clubs, our coaches and the countless families who do everything they can to give their children the joy of sport over their Easter holidays.

“I would like to thank all of the clubs we visited; Oakmeadians RFC, Crediton RFC, Plymstock Oaks RFC, Exmouth RFC, Exeter Athletic, Truro RFC, Crewkerne RFC and Sidmouth RFC.

“We’re already really looking forward to our residential camps which are fast approaching! There are exciting times ahead for our community team.”
