Cornwall return to Sandy Park to take on Chiefs side

Published on: 02/04/2026

Cornwall have booked a return journey to Devon as they get set to take on Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.

Rugby supporters from Devon will understand the rivalry between the two neighbouring counties, so with Exeter Chiefs flying the flag for Devon it will undoubtedly be a robust and rambunctious affair.

Plus, the men in black and gold will use this game to prepare for their upcoming County Championship and will be looking to re-capture bragging rights after losing to the Chiefs side last season.

With Exeter Chiefs playing Harlequins at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on the same day, the Chiefs side taking on Cornwall will consist of the rest of the available squad plus Academy players.

Exeter Chiefs’ director of rugby Rob Baxter said: “These games against Cornwall offer us a fantastic opportunity to use some of our squad and young, developing players in a really competitive fixture.

“Cornwall always travel well and bring lots of support with them. They’re a hugely important team in our region both in terms of the support they gain from the local rugby community but also due to the fantastic work the clubs in Cornwall are doing to provide opportunities for young men to play sport and rugby, in particular.

“We really do like the fact we can support them in their programme as they build towards the county championship.”

With county bragging rights at stake, this is a match not to be missed. Whether you are a Sandy Park regular or have never been here before, you will receive a warm rugby welcome.

Tickets are just £10 for adults and £5 for U18s, so bring your family and your friends, bring the noise, and witness the battle for county pride. Tickets available here.
