Winger Claudia MacDonald has signed a new contract with Exeter Chiefs Women to pin the speedster down for at least another season.

Recently re-called into England action following a serious neck injury, MacDonald scored four tries for the Red Roses during the 2025 Women’s Six Nations.

With a home Women’s Rugby World Cup on the horizon, MacDonald will return to Sandy Park after the tournament to resume PWR duties.

It will be her fourth season with Exeter Chiefs having joined the club following the demise of Wasps. Since her debut in December 2022, MacDonald has played 29 league games and scored 25 tries.

Interim head coach Steve Salvin said: “Claudia is a world-class player as shown by her performances in the Six Nations. She worked so hard to recover from her injury and is always a positive influence around the team. Her aim right now is obviously the World Cup but when she returns, I think we will see an even better version of her at club level.”

MacDonald followed up the joy of winning another grand slam with the Red Roses with a sun-soaked wedding in Rhodes where she married Irish international Cliodhna Moloney.

She said: “It’s been amazing to have a real switch off this summer and put our off-pitch life first. But now we’re back in the gym and working hard to ready ourselves for a big season ahead. I’m hugely excited to continue my journey with Chiefs, keep learning my trade and be the best player I can for the club. Ready for another year of chants with our fans!"
