Fifty-try Rogers looking forward to festive fixture
Believe it not, Hope Rogers loves Christmas more than scoring 50 tries for her club, so is more than ready for this weekend’s festive fixture against Saracens.
The loosehead prop scored that 50th try against Sale Sharks two weekends ago to make it 50 tries from 54 appearances. Seemingly, all in day’s work and only worthy of a grin and a short laugh. Give her a Christmas hat though, and she beams from ear to ear!
“I love Christmas. Excitement levels are definitely through the roof,” said Rogers.
“I love the feeling of Christmas. I love the idea of giving, the idea of spending time with people that you love, joy…all of the beautiful things about Christmas.”
But is Christmas really as good as getting a 50th try though?
According to Rogers: “It's even better!”
Before Rogers can really let her hair down though there is a little matter of Chiefs final game of this PWR block against second-placed Saracens on Saturday (KO 15:05). This is where the Christmas festivities will really begin.
Rogers said: “Yeah, we're excited. Saracens tend to struggle a bit here at Sandy Park and we tend to struggle a bit, going over there. So, to have a home game before Christmas is great. To have Saracens here is even better. They're a really great team. They have great players across the board. We know the threat that they bring and how well they're playing this season.”
Aside from world peace and scoring a few more tries to keep Maisy Allen at bay (the flanker is currently on 36), Rogers has another wish for the festive season…to see a few Christmas hats in the crowd on Saturday.
“Everyone has to wear your Santa hats. Come on out, bring your Santa hats, be festive, and enjoy the atmosphere, because the women's game is great like that.”
This will be Chiefs Women’s last fixture for six weeks as they have a bye week next weekend and then will return to action for their home game against Leicester Tiger Women on Sunday, 1 February, 2026.
For the last chance to see Exeter Chiefs Women in action this year, tickets can be purchased here and are just £11 for adults and £5.50 for children and youths.
