Francesca Granzotto speeds down the wing

Granzotto named in the Azzurre’s Six Nations squad

Published on: 19/03/2026

Exeter Chiefs Women’s winger Francesca Granzotto has been named in Italy’s Six Nations squad.

The 23-year-old, who has been finding her fast feet in the PWR this season, will head back to her home country for training ahead of this year’s Guinness Women’s Six Nations tournament.

Since her Itay debut against Canada in July 2022, Granzotto has racked up 24 caps for her country.

Granzotto arrived at Sandy Park after Italy’s departure from the Rugby World Cup. She has an early taste of life in Exeter after they played France at her new home ground.

After making her try-scoring debut in the PWR Cup against Bristol Bears women, Granzotto has gone on to play in eight league games for Chiefs, scoring a further two tries.

Exeter Chiefs backs and attack coach Oli Bishiop, who nicknamed Granzotto ‘Frank the Tank’ after her try against Harlequins, said: “We are so pleased to see Francesca being selected for the Italy squad. She’s in great form right now and is an attacking threat on the pitch. It will be exciting to see her deliver this same form when she wears the Italian shirt.”
