Leadership through tough times inspires Business Breakfast

Exeter Chiefs’ director of rugby Rob Baxter OBE and CEO Tony Rowe CBE will share their leadership experiences from tough times through to the joy of a final and a successful investment process at the Sandy Park 20th Anniversary Business Breakfast.

This event, being held on Thursday, 17 September, is the first of three celebrations to mark the 20th year of club’s residency at the stadium and the anniversary of the opening of the South West’s leading conferencing & banqueting centre.

Baxter led Chiefs from ninth in the table at the end of the 2024/25 season to the Gallagher PREM Final in 2025/26. Rowe guided the club from a £25 million COVID pandemic debt to financial security following the recent investment from Black Knight Rugby.

In an interview after the investment, Rowe said: “I want to see the club recover, back on its feet properly, back in profit, and also get us to franchise.”

Baxter and Rowe will be joined by former chief executive and growth director of Exeter City Council Karime Hassan MBE who will discuss the 10,000-home expansion on the edge of the city.

Business Breakfast attendees will also get the first exclusive look at the new Exeter Chiefs men’s and women’s home and away club kit designed by Devon business VX3.

The club’s official events partner and former player Chris Bentley will host the breakfast, which will be held in the Chiefs Suite between 8:00 and 10:00. The Q&A session will be accompanied by Sandy Park’s corporate breakfast.
