Three Exeter Chiefs Women in Sunday WXV Global Series game

Exeter Chiefs Women have provided three players to Ireland and USA for Sunday’s WXV Global Series game.
USA Eagles’ most capped player, prop Hope Rogers will come up against Ireland’s hooker Cliodhna Moloney-MacDonald and lock Dorothy Wall as they go head-to-head at the Tallaght Stadium, Dublin, on Sunday (KO 13:45).
This is both sides’ first outing in this year’s tournament.
Rogers said: “I’m really looking forward to this tournament and our first game. We’ve been building as a squad, and I couldn’t be more excited for us to showcase who we are and all our hard work.”
The USA will play Wales next weekend before heading home for fixtures against Italy and the Red Roses.
Head coach Jack Hanratty said: “We've had a great couple weeks here in Ireland. We've been really challenging ourselves against each other, and now we’re excited to challenge other teams.
“We know that this is a really long process and we want to see what we can bring for every single game and challenge those teams that are near our world ranking. We're excited that we got to start against a very in-form Irish team in Ireland - which will be such a big test - and then let us see the growth of how we perform and if we can be battle-ready by the time we get to play the world champions at home in New Jersey.”
Meanwhile, this will be the first of three home matches for Ireland with two back-to-back matches against Japan on the horizon.
