Canadian trio all set for the quarter-finals

Exeter Chiefs Women’s trio of Canadians have been selected to start against Australia in Saturday’s Rugby World Cup quarter-final.

After her Player of the Match performance and two tries against Scotland, hooker Emily Tuttosi was hardly a surprise inclusion on the team-sheet.

She will be joined in the front-row by tight-head prop DaLeaka Menin while Canada’s captain Alex Tessier will lead the way from inside centre as the tournament enters the knockout stage.

Tuttosi said: “We know that it could be our last week, but we also know that we play best when we just focus on the game and not necessarily the big meaning of it. We also need to manage the fact that the pressure only builds. So, focusing on the rugby, not the outcome.”

Canada will play Jo Yapp’s Australia at 16:00 on Saturday at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium and will play the winner of the New Zealand v South Africa game being played at Sandy Park on Saturday (KO 13:00). Tickets available here.
