Cantorna out with ruptured Achilles injury

Published on: 12/10/2026

Exeter Chiefs Women’s centre Gabby Cantorna has been diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles after coming off injured during the game at the weekend.

The USA Eagle went down in the 12th minute of Saturday’s JAECOO Next Gen Cup game against Loughborough Lightning.

It was Cantorna’s first start since breaking her left ankle against Leicester Tigers Women in the last league game of the 2025/26 PWR season.

She is currently awaiting surgery before commencing a rehabilitation programme to recover from this injury to her right Achilles.

Exeter Chiefs Women’s head coach Oli Bishop said: “Sadly, this means Gabby will be out for the season. We’re all disappointed for her and we wish her a speedy recovery.”
