Chiefs launch first-ever girls-only residential camp

Published on: 11/06/2026

Chiefs Community department has launched its first-ever girls-only residential camp.

Girls between 13 and 16 years old inclusive are invited to a three-day camp at West Buckland School in North Devon.

The camp will be held from Monday, 3 August, and Wednesday, 5 August, and will be run by Exeter Chiefs Women’s players.

Community department manager Tom Steer said: “We are really excited about this camp. It’s a landmark move for our department but something we believe is so important in a county like Devon, where girls’ rugby is so strong.

“These players, who played in U14s and U16s teams this season, will benefit from structured daily rugby sessions with clear learning outcomes to develop their skills through game-based learning and match scenarios and to improve their confidence, decision-making, and teamwork.”

The camp is not just about rugby, there will also be team-building challenges, swimming sessions, nutrition workshops, leader development guidance, and evening entertainment and activities.

For £375, the girls-only camp includes full bed and board for all three days and an exclusive Exeter Chiefs-branded keepsake.

Community coach and Chiefs Women’s player Taz Bricknell said: “We have seen players flourish at our girls-only day camps, and we want to see how much more benefit than can get from a three-day camp. We want to help them hone their skills going into next season and, ultimately, inspire Chefs Women’s players of the future.”
