Exeter Chiefs stars all set for first World Cup semi-final

Exeter Chiefs Women’s team-mate will meet team-mate as Canada and New Zealand go head-to-head in the first semi-final of the Rugby World Cup.

Captain Alex Tessier (above) will continue to lead from the inside half berth while the devastating duo of tighthead prop DaLeaka Menin and hooker Emily Tuttosi will also start for Canada on Friday night.

Menin said: “I’m very excited for the game. In our last couple of games against New Zealand, we’ve had some good success. We were able to beat them for the first time two years ago and this most recent game we tied.

“We’ve re-watched those games and we know where we made errors. We’re not underestimating them, but we’ve also been working on our processes this entire tournament and aiming to improve every match."

Meanwhile, new club team-mate prop Amy Rule has been named on the bench for the Blacks Ferns, who will be without back-rower Jorja Miller for their penultimate game of the tournament but will celebrate Black Ferns co-captain Ruahei Demant’s 50th cap

The Black Ferns left Exeter this week, after their win over the Women Springboks at Sandy Park, to travel to Bristol for a tight turnaround ahead of their 19:00 kick-off at Ashton Gate.

For supporters who do not have tickets to the game, this first semi-final will be shown on BBC Two.
