Youngster George Newman joined Chiefs for the 2025/26 season with a great opportunity to learn from the PREM and international experience of a Chiefs scrum-half group which included Stephen Varney, Charlie Chapman and Tom Cairns.

Born in London, Newman originally played for Rosslyn Park before making the move to Cornwall where he joined the Chiefs Academy at Truro College.

An England U18s starter, the half-back made his debut for EURFC in a BUCS match-up against Swansea.

In January 2026, Newman was thrilled to make his Chiefs debut in a PREM Rugby Cup clash against Sale Sharks at Sandy Park.
