Scrum-half

Exeter-born Lucy Nye returned to her roots when she headed back to Devon to play for Exeter Chiefs.

The scrum-half was born in Exeter, attended St Peter’s High School and played for Exeter Saracens girls U15s and U18s, having grown up watching her father play for Exmouth RFC. A self-confessed beach lover, the call of the South West was too good to resist.

Nye said: “As a young girl from Exeter, I never thought it would be possible to put on a Chiefs shirt, now I can hopefully make that a reality. It’s a super exciting squad and I’m looking forward to starting the season in the West Country!”

Formerly of Wasps Ladies, she has spent the last two seasons with Leicester Tigers Women while juggling her career in the RAF Police. She has also run out for the RAF Rugby Union Women and was selected for the UK Armed Force's squad ahead of the women’s International Defence Rugby Competition (IDRC), the equivalent of their own world cup being played in England in 2025.

Nye played seven times for England U20s and has also played sevens for England.
