Kate Smith started playing rugby at her local club where she was coached by her dad. She made the move from DMP Sharks to Exeter Chiefs after representing DMP for three seasons.
Smith’s Chiefs debut came against Worcester Warriors in the first game of the 2023/24 season. The second row has already been a real asset to the team, having contributed to multiple turnovers in the lineouts in the first few cup rounds.
Smith was a student at Exeter University, studying geography and played for the university’s women’s team. She followed up her two appearances in the Allianz Cup by making her league debut against Sale Sharks in January 2024.
