Tighthead Prop
Tighthead prop Ehren Painter joined Chiefs in March 2023 from league rivals Northampton Saints.
A product of Northampton’s Academy, Painter – who tips the scales at 140kg and stands at 6ft 4in – made his senior debut for the Saints against Saracens in 2018 and was a regular within their first-team ranks.
Born in London, he represented England at age-grade level, including for the Under 20s in both the Six Nations and World Rugby Championships in 2018.
Prior to signing, Painter described Chiefs as a club he had huge respect for having come up against Exeter numerous times in the past, he knew the threat of the pack and that was something he wanted to be a part of.
Debuting in a domestic cup fixture against Bristol Bears, Painter fast became a favourite of teammates and supporters alike. The 2025/26 season was an incredibly tough one for Painter as injury robbed him of the chance to step onto the pitch.
However, the future of the front row looks sound as Painter returns to full fitness alongside the likes of Will Goodrick-Clarke, Nika Abuladze, Josh Iosefa-Scott and Bachuki Tchumbadze.
