Born in Truro, local lad Oscar Beckerleg has already captured the attention of the England age-grades. Following in his older brother’s footsteps by picking up a rugby ball, he described the highlight of his young career so far as having the opportunity to have played with his brother.
Before being brought into the Chiefs Academy fold, Beckerleg developed through the junior ranks of Penzance and Newlyn RFC from aged 7-16 before joining Truro College in his late teens.
The second rower is now one of the Academy’s senior members who has already made his senior Chiefs debut in a PREM Rugby Cup match.
