Young back-rower Kane James hales from Heaverfordwest and joined the Chiefs squad in time for the 2023/24 season.

His first taste of rugby came at the age of seven at St Peter’s Rugby Club in Cardiff where he progressed through the ranks, moving on for his schools rugby.

In representative rugby, James has Under 18s honours for his native Wales as well as being a part of the Newcastle Falcons Under 18s set-up for a year from 2022 to 2023.

In 2024 he switched international allegiance to England U20 and quickly cemented himself as a regular starter, going on to win the U20 World Championship that same year.

James’ Chiefs debut was well-earned at the tail end of the 2024/25 season and the youngster quickly added 18 more appearances to his name.

His barnstorming performances for Chiefs caught the eye of international selectors and in June 2026, James reversed his international allegiance and made his debut for Steve Tandy’s Wales side in the new Nations Championship competition.
