Exeter Chiefs Academy manager Robin Cowling was thrilled with another bumper turn-out for the latest Coaching Masterclass put on by the club at Sandy Park.

Building on the success of one staged at Launceston Rugby Club last month, another 100 coaches from across the region were able to witness at first hand another informative evening of coaching, put on by members of the Exeter Chiefs first team squad and staff.

Helping to give an insight into detailed drills to improve tackling, passing, skills and front-row play were Exeter players Haydn Thomas and Alec Hepburn, alongside skills coach Ricky Pellow and academy coaches Glen Channing and Ruairi Cushion.

"Having enjoyed an excellent session down at Launceston, where we built on points brought up that night, it was great to be able to produce another fantastic night up here at Sandy Park.

"For all those that came along, I think it's great that they can learn from our players and our coaches and then take it back to their own clubs. Getting the chance to discuss latest training techniques for young players is high on our agenda here at the Chiefs as it’s imperative that core skills are taught correctly from a young age."
